Kathryn is a mental health social worker and family therapist who specialises in the provision of therapeutic services to children, young people, parents, carers and families. Kathryn has a warm and relaxed style that invites shared investigation into ways to improve wellbeing, mental health, communication and relationships.
Kathryn has experience supporting children and young people in distress due to issues such as childhood trauma, parental separation, anxiety, and loss and grief. As a systemic therapist, Kathryn works closely with parents and carers to improve family relationships and communication between family members.
Kathryn incorporates a range of evidence-based approaches into her practice, including CBT, ACT, Mindfulness and EMDR. She is passionate about supporting her clients to make connections that make a difference, both within their own thoughts and emotions, as well as in the relationships that are important to them. Kathryn has extensive training in childhood trauma and experience providing attachment-based therapies, including Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy and Theraplay.
